In a country that is as rich as the US, homelessness is unconscionable. Right now SCOTUS is trying to make being homeless illegal, sleeping outside illegal. The fact that Madison actually has laws against sleeping outside, that any other municipality dehumanizes it's own residents that way is unfathomable. Giving people back their dignity, making sure everyone has a safe place to lay their head, to keep their belongings, to send mail and be a positive part of a community is all anyone wants. Unscrupulous landlords and skyrocketing rents nationwide is driving more and more people out of safe, affordable housing. There's just no excuse. Every city/town/village should have a means to house EVERYONE. It's as basic a human need as clean water, food, and clothing.

No phone, need to take day jobs, otb. It seems someone could get him a burner phone? Let’s say a person needs seasonal work, like landscaping, cleaning garage, basement, around foundation of house, shrub trimming. These are the kinds of jobs I’d hire a gentleman who lives in a teepee. There’s no drugs, no alcohol, no smoking in my house. Could pay a day’s work, cash, and lunch.

What about your other two children? Weren’t y’all just living in a trailer? Dude don’t have legs to walk to get a job? Y’all don’t have money for a buss to go get your ss card or your id. Man this is wild. When is the last time you seen your son? Or the other child you have? You have 4 in total and a few places y’all could stay. Where DHS? They are fine with y’all just living it up in a camp? Wild your hairs done and you look clean, clothes look clean but them kids must be treated the same way the other two are.

We were at a shelter with them for several months. They had just moved up out of this area. They were great housemates. My son nicknamed the girls, "The little HI! girls " because they were always saying hi and waving to every one who came into the dining room for meals. It was awesome to see them moving up when their time came. So happy for them.

As much tax money the government takes for us and gives it to illegals.no legal citizen in America should be homeless.and they try to make it impossible with all the zoning and building regulations to live in a tiny house.everyone in our government that's lining their own pockets and letting the people live in tent's and sleeping on park benches.needs to go to prison.

We need to tell the stories of our neighbors in need, to make a difference and to heighten awareness. A hole in perspective bolstered by gaps in empathy can be so damaging.

Watching this as I was writing the music, the image of homelessness I had was absolutely shattered. It still wrecks me to think that the first 10 minutes were the end of their story for 3 months. Joppa is directly impacting lives and doing amazing work to not only help people out of homelessness, but to change minds and show how anyone could end up in these circumstances.

Our city did this for homeless, they started with 50, second year 100, this year 150 and now they are planning 500 and buying more property for future projects. We went from 2 homeless tent camps to 3 and they keep coming. Without a path to something else you will just have more and more people to provide for and now other cities are sending their homless here. Crime is out of control and now city services are being cut. I really dont suggest anyone do this without a clear pathway to turn peoples lives arpund and juat not keep giving and giving. They seem to gave a good program or something, because there's been a huge spike in crime, fights and stabbings, but in our city its raciat to expect people to behave...

Love this… every person deserves to feel safe and warm when they lay their head down at night… and this also provides a whole community to those who are otherwise ignored. Mental illness is rampant among the homeless and it gets worse in isolation. I think every city in America should offer something like this.

America has become a nation of minimum wage jobs. A sevice nation. I blame the outsourcing of well paying manufacturing jobs to 🇨🇳 and other Asian countries as the reason for most of this and I definetly blame Washington and greedy American corporate elites AND their lobbyists. Most who once were politicans. Ever wonder why politicans are so much richer today than they were 30 40 yrs ago ? I seen this coming back in the 80s. Good luck America. Your leaders have sold you out a long time ago. Fjb FW.
